The Great Andres Segovia, Michael Ryan's Inspiration for Playing Guitar
One of my greatest inspirations for playing Spanish guitar was Andrés Segovia. He was born February 21, 1893 and died on June 2, 1987. He is considered by many to be one of the best known and most influential classical guitarist of the 20th century.
I first heard him in concert at Bridges Auditorium in Claremont. I was completely captivated by his performance and the music.
Here is a video of Segovia playing a variation on Mozart.
